CSRD174 CODEMASTER ft. Xantone Blacq

Cross Section Music and Chris Simmonds presents CODEMASTER. A project headed up by DJ/Producer/Remixer Chris Simmonds owner of A brand that has been casually releasing quality House Music for the last 24 years and supported by the heavyweights of the underground since 1994.

Chris is the half-brother of Leroy Williams (percussion) and nephew of Jeffery Guishard (vocals/percussion) of Brit-Funk band Hi-Tension and co-produced and mixed the remake of The Brit Funk Project – Hi-Tension Bless The Funk in 2017 to critical acclaim at his new home DP Music (Studios) based at Tileyard Studios, Kings Cross, London together with Paul Phillips (producer/guitarist)

Under the CODEMASTER guise, he has already delivered remixes for Earth, Wind & Fire’s Ralph Johnson, new single “Aura (Embrace Your Light)” which features Verdine White on bass and Siedah Garrett on vocals. Joyous was originally recorded by Pleasure and is one of CODEMASTER’S favourite bands so he grabbed the opportunity to record a new version which showcases his production skills, plus the sound and power of the studio.

This release is part of a forthcoming album project being released in 2019 which features the very talented Xantone Blacq on vocals. Xantone (Zan-ton-e) is an original member Amy Winehouse band (Amy Lives) and currently touring Europe, and has worked with the likes of George Duke, Pee Wee Ellis, Mark Ronson to name few. Chris and Xantone have been friends and working with each other on numerous projects in the past years.

Chris has already named Xantone as his musical director when the project goes live and from the energy on this single, it’s obvious to hear why. Other talented collaborators on this project include Grammy Award Winner Jeff Lorber, Rick Braun, Shena Winchester and Sabrina Malheiros!
